As media becomes more and more common and advanced, we tend to spend ample amounts of time using and obsessing over the newest media. To me, media is defined as the source that the majority of the public uses to get information from. One type of media includes print media, such as newspapers, books, and magazines. Other forms can fall under the electronic category, such as television, social media, Internet, and cell phones. Our society relies on media to obtain political information, current events, and even help us pass time while playing video games. After doing my monitoring over a 72-hour span, I realized that I tend to spend a lot of time using the media throughout my day for various reasons. The dates that I decided to do my media time stamp on were Saturday, September 24th through Monday, September 26th. There were a couple reasons why I decided to do these dates. One being because I wanted to see if there was going to be a different pattern in my media use during the weekday versus my use during a weekend, so I had to at least have one weekday included in my media time stamp. Second, I had two birthday parties going on that weekend and those events might have altered my normal usage. Lastly, the debate was on that following Monday and I knew for a fact that I was going to use the most amount of media usage that specific day due to the history in the making.
